My research aims at a quantitative, mechanistic understanding of the physical processes that create and transport sediment, and their relationship to emergent patterns across Earth’s surface over varying spatial and temporal scales.
To address these research questions, I utilize a combination of numerical modeling, physical experiments, field observations, and high-resolution topographic datasets. My work is driven by a keen interest in bridging seemingly disparate scientific disciplines with earth surface processes, including biology and granular physics. I rely on a wide range of tools to answer fundamental knowledge gaps related to sediment transport and erosion mechanics.
I have developing interests in near-surface geophysics, fracture mechanics, and tribology. Stay tuned!
